CPR for the Community & Workplace

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a life sustaining technique that is used when a person has gone into cardiac arrest (no breathing and no pulse). In this class, you will learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support skills (CPR), as well as how to aid a victim who is choking. In the pediatric sections, you will focus on the difference between children and adults, as well as how to aid a child in an emergency.

Length of Course Estimated Cost per Student
Adult and Pediatric CPR (combined) 4 hrs $50

CPR for the Professional Rescuer

This class teaches the same skills as CPR for the Community & Workplace, but is tailored for those who work in a healthcare setting, such as CNAs, lifeguards, EMTs, nurses, PAs, doctors, etc. It is highly recommended, and often required, if you work in a healthcare setting.

First Aid Certification

First Aid is the immediate care given to the injured or suddenly ill person, when a trained medical professional (such as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or physician) is not immediately available. It is the temporary assistance until a medical professional arrives and can assist the victim. In this class, you will focus on important medical care that can be given in the first five minutes following an incident. When properly applied, First Aid can save lives, reduce recovery time, and possibly be the difference between temporary or lifelong disability.

Length of Course Estimated Cost per Student
Basic First Aid (Adult and Child) 4 hrs $55

Stand-alone AED Certification

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a device that delivers a controlled electrical shock to the heart of a victim in cardiac arrest. The purpose of the shock is to get the victim's heart beating again, along with normal pumping action. It is a major component of resuscitation efforts that can, in combination with CPR, greatly increase a victim's chance of survival. In this class, you will learn how to safely use the AED, why they are so important for a victim's chance of survival, and how to combine the use of AED with CPR efforts.

Length of Course Estimated Cost per Student
Stand-alone AED (must show proof of successful CPR course completion) 2 hrs $20

Combinations of Classes

Prospective students often wish to combine multiple classes. This is a list of the most commonly-requested combinations of classes. However, any class combination for you based on your needs.

Length of Course Estimated Cost Per Student
Combined CPR/AED & First Aid 8 hrs $55
Combined CPR & AED 4 hrs $50

Why Learn CPR?

There are 871,517 adults who die of cardiovascular disease each year. Of that number, 450,000 are killed by coronary heart disease. It is a fact that effective bystander CPR, provided immediately after cardiac arrest, can double a victim’s chance of survival.
