I'm an incoming freshman and I am already a nationally certified EMT. Can I join EMeRG for my freshman fall semester?
Unfortunately we do not accept incoming freshmen for the fall semester. However, you can apply in the fall for our spring semester probationary class!
I am a GW student and am a certified EMT in my home state. Can I join EMeRG?
You must pass the national exam to be nationally registered as an EMT before you can join EMeRG. You can apply now and then take the national exam, as long as you will have passed the exam before your probationary semester.
I am not certified as an EMT. How can I become certified so I can be eligible to join EMeRG?
You must become a nationally certified EMT. There are several options for you to get this. GWU offers a 4 credit, one semester long course to prepare you to pass the NREMT exam, called EHS 1040/1041. Or, you can take the course in your home state and become state certified, and then take the national exam to get nationally certified. Go to www.nremt.org for more information.
I am interested in riding along with EMeRG but not for a class. How can I do this?
Unfortunately we do not offer this option unless it is for the MFA EMT course.
